She looks like her dad in this picture. If she points like this all the time, there’s no way I could keep her out of the field trials. We were working some quail in the woods, when she gave me this point. Quinn let me flush the bird, and then she took off after it. Her points were so intense, as well as her desire to chase after the birds, that I introduced her to gunfire with a starter pistol firing off 209 caps. She didn’t even blink at the sound as she followed the quail through the hardwoods. We also did some retrieving work as well (don’t believe anyone who says a pointer won’t retrieve – teach ‘em) with more than half of the retrieves resulting in her dropping the bird in my hand. Not bad for five months old…
